## How it is calculated

**WSAVA:** core vaccination (FPV, FHV-1, FCV) beginning at 6–8 weeks of age and repeating every 2–4 weeks until 16 weeks of age or older [2]; revaccination at or after 26 weeks of age [1]. Rabies vaccination is essential for cats in endemic areas [1].

**AAHA/AAFP 2020 (USA, Canada):** FPV + FHV-1 + FCV no earlier than 6 weeks of age, then every 3–4 weeks until 16–20 weeks; consider a booster at 6 months of age rather than 1 year; revaccinate every 3 years thereafter [3]. FeLV: two doses 3–4 weeks apart beginning as early as 8 weeks, revaccinated 12 months after the last dose [3]. Rabies: follow the vaccine label and local laws [3].

## Worked example

Born 1 Jan 2026 (AAHA/AAFP): core doses at 8, 12 and 16 weeks, booster at 6 months (1 Jul 2026), then every 3 years.

### How is the FeLV vaccine given to kittens?

Two doses 3–4 weeks apart starting as early as 8 weeks of age, then revaccination 12 months after the last dose [3].
