How it is calculated

Drops/min = (mL/h ÷ 60) × drops/mL of the giving set ^[1]

Seconds per drop = 60 ÷ drops/min

Worked example

60 mL/h with a 20 drops/mL set = 20 drops/min (1 drop every 3 s).
